Before becoming Managing Director of Afore XXI Banorte, he held different management positions in the Federal Government, specially the Ministry of Finance and the Mexican Social Security Institute, in the fields of labor market and social welfare. He has also worked as consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank.

He has a degree from ITAM and two masters, Development Studies from the London School of Economics, and Public Administration from Harvard University.

The Future of Work

Christopher Pissarides has been a Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics for 38 years.

He specializes in the economics of labor markets, economic growth and structural change, especially markets with frictions. His book Equilibrium Unemployment Theory is a benchmark in the economics of unemployment.

For the last decade, he has worked extensively in the labor implications of automation and artificial intelligence, as well as the emergence of China as a global economic power.

In 2010 Sir Christopher Pissarides was recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, with Peter Diamandis (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and Dale Mortensen (Northwestern University) for his work in the economics of unemployment. In 2005 he was awarded the IZA Price in Labor Economics (with Dale Mortensen) for his work in unemployment, and in 2008 he received the Republic of Cyprus “Aristeion” for the Arts, Literature and Science.

He has been in charge of finances and risks, and participated in mergers and acquisitions throughout Latin America, including the sale of ING México to Grupo Sura.

As of May 2021, he leads Citibanamex Afore and is Member of Amafore and Procesar Board of Directors.

He has a BA in Accounting and Business Administration from UNAM, and an MBA in Business Administration from McCombs School of Business, University of Texas in Austin, and Business Administration and Management from the Tec de Monterrey.

He is Head of Global Multi-Asset. He has over 20 years of experience in investments. He is a member of the Asset Allocation and Board Committees at T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. 

Before joining T. Rowe Price, he was Executive Vice-President of Investment Management (PIMCO) and Managing Director at State Street Global Markets. 

He is a three-time recipient of The Journal of Portfolio Management (2003, 2010 y 2011) award, and two-time recipient of the Financial Analyst Journal (2010 y 2014) award. He is the author of “Beyond Diversification” (2020) and co-author of “Factor Investing and Asset Allocation: A Business Cycle Perspective” (2016). He is member of the Editorial Board of the Financial Analysts Journal and Research Committee at the Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance (Q Group). He is a frequent contributor of financial media, such as Bloomberg TV and CNBC.

Sébastien he has a degree in Business Administration and a Master in Finance from the Universite de Sherbrooke. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

He held several positions, such as Head of International Investments, where he was in charge of transactions in different projects in Europe, U.S., and Latin America, and was responsible for the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) area, as consultant and representative for important transactions.

He has worked as consultant for different companies in Mexico and other countries. 

He has a BA in Economics from the ITAM, and is certified in alternative assets, and derivatives, business valuation, and the CFA program.

His career began in Ciba Geigy, where he held different positions in Sales, Marketing, New Businesses, and he was Business Unit Director. He later joined Novartis Farma, as Regional Director for Central America, the Caribbean, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, and Chile, from Buenos Aires, and VP for Marketing and Sales in Mexico. He was Managing Director of Valeant for Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela.

He is founding partner of INNOVASALUD, a mutual fund that specializes in the field of health. He has been member of the National Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry Board, the Mexican Association of Pharmaceutical Research Laboratories, the American Group of Pharmaceutical Laboratories, and the Mexican Association of Market Research and Public Opinion Agencies.

He teaches a Course in Pharmaceutical Management at Tec de Monterrey.

Lourdes Motta Murguía

Trends in Medical Science for 2050

For 12 years she held different positions in Mexico’s Department of Health, and later, she has worked as consultant and researcher in the fields of economics and public health. Her work in the public and private sector has focused on the design and implementation of innovative, disruptive, effective, and sustainable public policy solutions to address national and global public health issues.

She was President of the Mexican Society of Public Health during the two-year period 2017-2018, being the first non-medical person to be appointed to the position in over 75 years of existence of this association.

Since 2012, she is Secretary of the AMAFORE Board of Directors.

She has Law Degree from ITAM. She obtained her MSc in Economics and Health Care Polices from the University of Birmingham, UK. She is a Doctor in Public Health Service Administration. She has post-doctoral studies and graduated from the program of Leadership, Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, Yale University.

David Kershenobich
General Director of the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition

Trends in Medical Science for 2050

He studied medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and was resident in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the “Salvador Zubiran” National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition; he specialized in Hepatology at the Royal Free Hospital in London. He obtained a PhD in Medicine from the University of London in 1975. 

He participated in the creation of the first Liver Clinic in the country, where most hepatologists of the country have studied. His research focuses on the pathophysiology of liver cirrhosis mainly in the field of fibrosis. 

He was member of the UNAM Board of Governors (2005-2012), and Chair of the Mexican National Academy of Medicine from 2010 to 2012, and between 2011 and 2012 he was secretary of the National Health Council.

At the Salvador Zubiran National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition, he was head of Clinical Services, coordinator of Training, member of the Ethics and Research Committee, head of the Gastroenterology Department. He has been General Director of the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition since 2012.

Se desempeña como presidente de la Asociación Mexicana de Administradoras de Fondos para el Retiro (AMAFORE) desde enero de 2019.

Ha sido regulador del sistema financiero. Primero como Vicepresidente de Política Regulatoria de la Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNBV); luego como Jefe de la Unidad de Banca, Valores y Ahorro en la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público (SHCP) y finalmente como Presidente de la CNBV.

Durante este período, Bernardo González participó en el diseño de la reforma financiera de 2014, lideró la renegociación del capítulo de servicios financieros del Tratado de Libre Comercio México, Estados Unidos, Canadá (TMEC). También estuvo a cargo del diseño y aprobación de la Ley Fintech en el
Congreso, así como el desarrollo de la regulación secundaria.

Bernardo ha ocupado diversos cargos ejecutivos en bancos de desarrollo como Financiera Rural y Banco del Ahorro Nacional y Servicios Financieros (Hoy Banco del Bienestar). Como Jefe de la Unidad de Banca de Desarrollo en la SHCP tuvo a su cargo la conducción de la política pública de los seis bancos y agencias de desarrollo de México y presidió los Consejos de Administración de
dichas instituciones.

Como consultor, Bernardo González ha trabajado para organismos multilaterales como el Banco Mundial, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) y el Departamento del Reino Unido para el Desarrollo Internacional (UKDFID).

Bernardo González ha sido miembro de organizaciones que establecen estándares internacionales como el Financial Stability Board (FSB) del G20, el Comité de Basilea, la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo (OCDE) y el Grupo de Acción Financiera Internacional (GAFI), entre otros.

Bernardo tiene una licenciatura en Administración de Empresas con especialización en Finanzas del Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) y una Maestría en Políticas Públicas de la Escuela McCourt de la Universidad de Georgetown.

Ha sido profesor de finanzas públicas y economía en la Universidad Iberoamericana, la Universidad Panamericana y en el ITAM.

In 2021 she was a panelist at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit “Engaging Youth in the Race”, and is currently chair of the Student Society Council of the Tec de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey, Student Federation.

Since January 2019, he has been Chair of the Mexican Association of Retirement Funds Administrators (AMAFORE).

He has worked as regulator of the financial system. He was VP of Regulatory Policy at the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV); later, he was head of the Department of Finances (SHCP) Banking, Securities and Savings, and finally, President of the CNBV.

During this period, Bernardo González helped design the 2014 financial reform, he led the renegotiation of the financial services chapter of USMCA. He was in charge of the design and passing of the Fintech Act at Congress, and the development of the secondary regulations.

Bernardo has held different executive positions at development banks, such as Financiera Rural and Banco del Ahorro Nacional y Servicios Financieros (Today, Banco del Bienestar). As head of the SHCP Development Banking Unit, he was in charge of public policy activities at the six development banks and agencies I Mexico, and was chair of their Managing Boards.

As consultant, Bernardo González has worked for multilateral organizations, including World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank (BID), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and United Kingdom Department for International Development (UKDFID).

Bernardo González has been member of international standard setting bodies such as the G20 Financial Stability Board (FSB), the Basel Committee, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the Financial Action Task Force (AFTF), among others.

Bernardo has a degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Finances from the Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), and a Master in Public Policy from the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy.

He has been professor of public finances and economics sciences at the Iberoamericana University, the Panamericana University, and ITAM.

He has held different positions in national and international financial institutions, such as Merrill Lynch, Banco de Mexico, Scotiabank, Barclays, Actinver, and PiP (Proveedor de Precios).

He has a degree in Public Accounting from Tec de Monterrey and a Master in Finance from the same school. He has delivered finance courses, including topics such as Debt Market, Derivatives, and Risk Management.

He studied at the Political and Social Sciences School of UNAM.
